THE ABSOLUTE
In the heart of Blumenland, overlooking the French Riviera, Grasse is recognized as the world capital of perfumery. It is known for the quality of its essences and creations. PANIER DES SENS celebrates the perfumery of Grasse and its traditional skills, with a new collection based on perfume absolute.

Real high-end perfumery, an absolute is the most valuable oil of the vegetable raw material. Absolues are fragrant natural highly concentrated plant extracts, produced from a plant through the extractive action of an organic solvent. Extraction begins with the maceration (Latin macerare “to soak”) of the plant to obtain what is known as concentrate. This solid concentrate is then melted, dissolved in alcohol, the insoluble waxes are removed while the pigments and essences are retained. The final step aims to separate the alcohol from the perfumed substance: the result is an absolute - a dense, precious and highly concentrated liquid.
