ROSE GERANIUM

Introduced in Europe during the 17th century, geraniums were initially used for medicinal purposes. They were soon used in perfumery as well, for the aromatic properties of their leaves and stems. The rose-like aroma of geranium is particularly delicate, both sweet and strong, very similar to that of rose, yet distinctive thanks to its light green and citrus notes.

PANIER DES SENS has selected the Pelargonium Graveolens, also known as Rose Geranium to embody the first fragrance of this iconic collection.

THE ABSOLUTES

In the heart of flower country, overlooking the French Riviera, Grasse is recognized as the world capital of perfumery. It is known for the quality of its essences and creations. PANIER DES SENS celebrates the Grasse perfumery and its traditional skills, with a new collection based on perfume absolutes. 

Genuine high-end perfumery gem, an absolute is the most precious oil of the vegetable raw material. Absolutes are highly concentrated fragrant natural vegetable extracts, produced through the extractive action of an organic solvent on a plant. The extraction begins with the maceration of the plant, to obtain what is known as a concrete. This solid concrete is then melted, dissolved in alcohol, to remove the insoluble waxes, while preserving the pigments and essences. The final step aims to separate the alcohol from the perfumed substance: the result is an absolute - a dense, precious and highly concentrated liquid. 

Olive oil, one of the region's emblematic raw materials, has been chosen as a key ingredient for each formula in order to offer a range of body care even richer.
